About Kiefer Sutherland

I started in the home energy conservation industry in 2015 performing weatherization retrofits to residential housing with Energy Services Group. There, I was able to gain mechanical knowledge on the thermal dynamics of houses, how to properly establish pressure and thermal boundaries in attics, basements, and crawlspaces, and how to properly treat a variety of both common and uncommon building shell problems that would lead to high energy usage. Throughout my time with Energy Services Group as a weatherization crew leader, I have serviced hundreds of houses throughout the states of Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey and worked closely with residential new construction building companies to achieve standards set in place by the Building Performance Institute. Since 2020, I have been a residential home energy auditor for Advanced Green Home Solutions operating within the EmPower Maryland program to provide homeowners with insight on cost effective methods for reducing energy consumption and improving comfortability, health and safety throughout their home. Currently I am looking to further my knowledge and continue my expertise in home energy efficiency and building performance in the Boston, Massachusetts region as I am planning a move in June.
