About Kiera Clark
I have a Master of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Arts in English Honours with a minor in history, both from the University of Victoria. My research focuses primarily on early modern literature, Shakespeare, and women’s writing. My undergraduate thesis explored the roles of Shakespeare's tragic women vis-à-vis the protagonists' temptation. My master’s project examined the connection between female speech and femicide in three Early Modern domestic tragedies by exploring the interaction of social and gender hierarchies in the plays. I currently work as the Senior Supervisor with the UVic Annual Giving Calling Program, as a Teaching Assistant in the Faculty of Humanities, and as a Research Assistant in the Department of English. In my free time I am also a Volunteer Staff Writer for the Martlet, UVic's independent newspaper, and was previously a volunteer editor and proof-reader for The Albatross, UVic's Undergraduate English Journal.
