About Kiera Mitru

I am a New Jersey-based cook whose enthusiasm for learning and collaboration stretches far beyond the kitchen. I believe in food as a vehicle to fuel community, connection, and conversation for generations to come. In 2021, I graduated Siena College Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in English and minors in journalism and Italian. Additionally, I have enjoyed gaining professional culinary experience in unique kitchen settings for over 3 years. In my work at Nourish.NJ, I am able to combine my interests in cooking and community service by preparing and distributing over nutritious meals each week for those facing food insecurity in my community. In my work at James on Main, I have the opportunity to pay close attention to detail, learn and practice classic cooking techniques, and work in a fast-paced environment while learning from some of New Jersey’s most talented chefs.
