About Kim Batkin

Having a non-visible disability and understanding the struggles, I dedicated my career to pay it forward to an incredible population of people as I bring awareness and focus to their ABILITIES versus their disABILITIES. I was just recognized by my colleagues as Teacher of the Year. I am an award winning, highly experienced, National Board Certified Teacher with over 26 years of experience as a: teacher, leader, consultant, and disability specialist with a personal interest in being an advocate and activist for inclusion for all people with different needs in schools, society, and the workplace. I taught mathematics in the fourth largest school system in the US, with over students, 94% minority and 55% enrollment being economically disadvantaged. I am well versed in working with a myriad of demographics and have presented to over people, in multiple states. My presentations are tailored to the specific needs of the audience and are engaging, evidence based, and interactive. My audience ranges from 10 - 300 people in attendance. I ensured successful ADA compliance that includes assessment of policies and strategies for adherence and implementation of organization-wide policy. I wrote legal binding IEPs, 504's and EPs, representing the students individual needs as well as creating other legal documents that were necessary for the students success and to ensure ADA Compliance. At a corporate level, I help increase inclusivity through hands-on, research based, interactive professional development, and training for employees and managers. I primarily focus on skills that better meet the individual needs of employees and customers with special needs. Successful ADA compliance is the focus through: training, assessment of policies, strategies for adherence and implementation of organization-wide policy. As a result, there's an increased work/life harmony, inclusiveness in the work culture, productivity, attendance at work, job satisfaction, and retention of employees. From a customer’s/client’s perspective - foster customer quality and compassionate relationships to build loyalty, customer satisfaction, and higher sales.
