About Kim Cameron

Currently my position at Sea Monster as Production Manager involves managing the overall studio schedule, managing specific Animation projects, processing the finances (invoicing, book keeping, projections, budgets, project costings, etc), contributing to management priorities and decision making, overseeing the running of the office, and fulfilling the various HR responsibilities required of a small studio. For the ten years prior to joining Sea Monster I was working in various positions in hospitality – waitering, bartending, and managing – the last four years of which I was working part-time whilst completing my degree. I have learned valuable lessons about myself over my years of working, and I now know that I am happiest in an environment in which I am regularly interacting with people, and in a role that challenges my organisational and problem-solving abilities. I would ideally like to work in a position that allows me to help make a difference – either in the form of staff development and motivation or for an organisation that is involved in social upliftment or human rights. I am particularly interested in labour relations and the rights of the employee in South Africa. One of the most valuable attributes that I have developed over the years is my belief in my abilities as someone who is capable. I will never stop learning or improving but I am confident in my capacity to acquire new competencies if given the opportunities. I am also someone who is fiercely honest and ethical, and will always stand up for what I believe is right. However, I am always open to friendly debate and I am considerate of opposing points of view. That is, I would rather discover the truth together than be proved right. I am not overly competitive but I like to do well. I am very much a team player and value group success over individual.
