About Kim Chamness

With over 30 years of professional experience as a registered architect and interior designer, I offer strong qualifications as a Senior Design Architect. I offer creative problem solving, advanced programming techniques, expertise in analyzing design solutions, technical expertise, ability to lead a multi-talented and disciplined team, control budgets and the ability to work with clients, architects, consultants, contractors and governmental agencies on various Architecture and Interior Design projects. As an Architectural Generalist my project involvement has included acting Project Director, Project Manager, Designer, Team Member and LEED Consultant while focusing on planning and programming, design concept, design development, budgeting, branding, document preparation, construction administrations, client advocacy, LEED and project sustainability, and post occupancy evaluations. The size and scope of my project portfolio ranges from stand-alone buildings (1315 Peachtree Street) to corporate campuses (Darden Corporate Headquarters) to multi-faceted educational campuses (KSU and MOI). I have worked on a wide variety of public and private sector projects in the United States and overseas, including government, corporate, healthcare, science and technology, transportation, legal, K-12 and higher education. I have participated and managed 11 LEED projects which included certified, silver, gold and platinum awards. I oversaw the design and greening of the LEED Platinum 1315 Peachtree Street which encompassed the renovation and repurposing of an existing building to a state of the art LEED Platinum office environment. This project included power co-generation, re-purposing of materials, reclaimed water, sophisticated lighting and controls, state of the art building materials and radiant heating and cooling with displacement ventilation.
