About Kim Corrigan

I am a highly-organized and analytical professional with hands-on experience in ensuring data privacy, managing information security compliance, and administering programs. Being obsessed with ethics, data privacy, and information security compliance isn’t for everyone, but it’s definitely for me. Since the beginning of my career in health information management, I realized that people often underestimate the value of risk management and compliance to protect themselves as well as the entire organization. That’s where I come in. It has become my passion to help organizations build programs that support the integrity and security of data management in both physical and electronic environments. Combining my background in healthcare in safeguarding protected health and personally identifiable information, I’ve expanded my experience to include supporting and collaborating dynamic biomedical research communities to ensure organizational privacy and compliance. While providing governance support to a multi-disciplinary, cross-collaboration of biomedical communities, I’ve had the opportunity to expand my knowledge of international and regional privacy regulations, and coordinate submissions to the Institutional Review Board. My extensive experience in conducting quality audits to drive information process improvement as well as collaborating extensively with the IT department on information governance optimization has shaped me into a big-picture thinker capable of managing organization-wide data privacy and compliance. Throughout my career, I have established a reputation as a self-starting professional undeterred by obstacles and committed to revitalizing underperforming areas in the context of legal and ethical aspects of privacy and compliance. With a strong interest in program management, enterprise architecture, and Cloud services, I have successfully completed my CIPP/US and CIPM certifications with the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
