About Kim Cushing

I am a CPA candidate experienced as an Audit Associate with EY and am excited to build new relationships with clients based on integrity and technical capabilities. My audit work at EY focused on retail, consumer products, healthcare and restaurant industries. Skills used include account analysis, data management, client management, problem-solving with audit team seniors and management, and continual learning within EY and client spaces. With an additional 8 years of prior work experience across the United States and China in bookkeeping, education, sales, and project management, I am a versatile and adaptive candidate excited to apply my skills, knowledge and ethical practices to my role. My academic background in accounting standards and financial analysis was developed through my education at both Santa Ana College and UC San Diego. In bookkeeping, I developed problem-solving, categorization, reconciling and QuickBooks skills with senior colleagues to achieve client satisfaction. Throughout my teaching career in China, I provided up to 480 pieces of feedback over a 2-year span, graded the same number of pieces of work on a weekly basis, and created numerous lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, exams and curriculum for foreign-language learners. My retail experience cultivated my ability to develop rapport with create and maintain repeat client relationships, as well as execute successful sales within my sales region from the onset of employment. My goal is to leverage my diverse skill set and passion for accounting and business in auditing roles, and to successfully co-create a future of ethics and standard-setting excellence in the accounting space.
