About Kim Devoe

I’m retired after over 40 years of experience in the design, construction and quality control of new residential and commercial buildings. I started out building passive solar homes in the summer while working as a manger at A-Basin ski area. I went back to school and received a BS in the design, engineering and construction of solar homes, solar thermal, PV, and wind power systems. Upon graduating into a dying alternative energy field, I did some designing and building of solar homes and additions, but moved to Sonoma County CA where I had family and there were more oportunities. I became a fully certified Building Mechanical Plumbing and Electrical Inspector for The County of Sonoma for 7 years. I moved back to Larimer County in 1993, where I worked for the County as an Inspector until 2003 when I left to explore other interests. I became a residential real estate appraiser for several years, but then joined Paladium homes as the Construction Manager until the housing market tanked at the end of 2008. In 2009 I joined Fort Collins Utilties as an Energy Services Specialist and in 2012 was promoted to Energy Services
