Background

About Kim Eccleston

My expertise is microwave technology and electromagnetics. I consider the proposal and development of a distributed SIW amplifier, identifying wave propagation behavior in the corrugated SIW, and being the Technical Programme Committee Co-Chair of APMC2011 as my three most significant career highlights. I have over thirty (30) years experience in the general area of microwave science and technology including microwave active and passive circuits, microwave waveguides and electromagnetics, and microwave measurements. Over the last 10 years I have been developing microwave metamaterial negative refractive-index lenses and imaging systems based on these lenses. I am currently developing a microwave sensor for fruit quality assessment on a conveyor. I have made significant research contributions to substrate-integrated waveguide technology and miniaturization of microwave passive components. I use Matlab and Ansys HFSS pervasively in my current work and have had over ten (10) years experience with using Sonnet and AWR Microwave Office. The annual Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference is my favorite forum for presenting my work and exchanging ideas related to microwave technology and electromagnetics. I have taught electronics, electromagnetics, microwave techniques, statistics and reliability engineering, in research informed universities over a a period of twenty-one (21) years.
