About Kim-Ellen Hurst

With over 30 years experience in event, project and program management, I am a dedicated operations/administrator committed to providing excellence to clients and my business interests. Formerly one of the youngest members of the Findhorn Foundation - the educational cornerstone of the Findhorn Community located in northeast Scotland. Was co-founder of the Youth Project and ran several successful empowerment programs and exchanges for youth in the Foundation, aboriginal communities (Winnipeg and environs) local/national communities (Glasgow) as well as international visitors. Since returning to Canada I have worked in project management, event management, general company operations and startups. My interest in community development led to a 5 year stint with Pride Toronto – the not-for-profit organization that produces an event that attracts an estimated 1 million + people to Toronto annually. Also have sat on the Board for the Pride & Remembrance Association – the team that hosts a 5 km charity run every June and has raised funds for noteworthy recipients such as the 519 Community Centre, Supporting Our Youth and Fife House. Currently, as a volunteer I am Treasurer for Focus on Nature, a not-for-profit bringing nature into young people's lives through photography.
