About Kim Goldschmidt
During my studies at Utrecht University I was introduced to the Arabic language and the history and cultures of the Middle East. Today the focus of my research lies on fundamentalism,(counter-)radicalisation and violence. In my master's thesis I analysed the changing perspectives on the Karbala-narrative during the Islamic Revolution of 1979. Part of the preparatory work for this thesis consisted of the translation of Kitab Maqtal al-Hussayn by al-Tabari.
