About Kim Klein

I am an experienced manager of nonprofit organizations including executive boards, philanthropic groups and neighborhood associations. Over the last fifteen years, I have conducted membership campaigns; facilitated board meetings nationwide; produced multi-day conferences; and designed outreach and marketing materials. My organizational and administrative skills in the areas of event planning, financial accounts management, meeting coordination, negotiating vendor contracts, member communications and design and development of PR materials help support the organization’s goals. I have leveraged my skills into contract work as well for all types of events and focus on creative solutions for individuals and organizations planning events that run the spectrum from large special occasion celebrations (weddings, birthdays) to small confidential business meetings. Prior to association management, I was a social worker directly employed by nationally recognized leaders in their field such as Children’s Memorial Hospital and Catholic Charities. The majority of my work involved counseling distressed families in impoverished neighborhoods and locating the necessary resources to improve their circumstances. I am good with crisis management and develops a rapid rapport with all levels of people involved. My cases throughout Cook County allowed me to work within diverse family situations and in a variety of different cultures. I am in the process of earning my Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) certificate. I have always been an active volunteer within my community, participating in events and fundraisers for organizations such as my neighborhood association, local theatre companies, no-kill animal shelters and citywide social service organizations.
