About Kim Klonowski

My laboratory seeks to understand the basic biology of T cells elicited after respiratory influenza infection and how modification of environmental cues within the lung can be used to augment such responses. Additionally, we are assessing how these processes may be regulated early in life to best protect those most susceptible to a variety of respiratory infections. This work is currently funded by the NIH and we welcome additional partners to work with us in our research endeavor. I also have personal interest in getting other people excited about science, thinking about it in the context of their own life or even as a career. This is accomplished by not only communicating science in the formal classroom to undergraduate and graduate students, but also informally to people of all ages and backgrounds through casual laboratory visits, podcasting, and working with post-baccalaureate students in the PREP@UGA program.
