Persistent, enthusiastic, humble and pleasant with a welcoming personality. I'm passionate about learning and growth, enjoying helping others whose paths I cross in our (departmental) team, our organization, as well as those I mentor. I utilize critical thinking, emotional intelligence and listening skills but am not afraid to speak up when the need arises. A lifelong learner, I focus on continual self-improvement and team cohesiveness, qualities that are needed and sometimes missing in many teammates and leaders. Naturally possessing those qualities can bring a lot to the table and utilization of those traits can really help an organization continue to thrive. Working hard to achieve academic successes with multiple business degrees, I purposely took a detour in my career after having a few poor leaders who made me feel that playing "safe" was a better idea. The painful decision to step down and away from a toxic workplace environment to re-group for a moment allowed growth that I’m eternally grateful for. Over 25 combined years as a federal civilian employee and a former United States Navy sailor have afforded me the opportunity to have a wide variety of roles and experiences. As a result I’ve discovered that watching from the sidelines and playing small for others to steal my shine no longer suits me.
