Background
About Kim Mayer
For three years, I was a Mental Health Case Manager at an adult partial care program. Adult partial care is a program where adults who were recently discharged from inpatient, would attend a program up to 5x a week for 6 hours a day. I was in charge of overseeing transportation and vehicle maintenance, teaching psycho-education groups, meal planning and management of funds, and completion of all documentation for the person served. When I changed from Case Manager over to Counselor, I was then in charge of managing up to a 25 person caseload. With this caseload, you would communicate and work with clients on helping them better their mental health. This would involve assisting with therapeutic skills, crisis intervention, medication management, and team collaboration.
