About Kim McElwain

With over 10 years of experience in public health and nutrition, I am passionate about promoting holistic health and wellness for the Mohawk community as an Assistant Health Director at Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe. In this role, I oversee the development and implementation of various health programs and services, such as diabetes prevention, maternal and child health, mental health, and substance abuse. I also collaborate with other tribal departments, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure the alignment of health goals, strategies, and resources. As a Program Manager at St Regis Mohawk Health Services, I managed a team of health professionals and coordinated the delivery of quality care and education for the clients. I also contributed to the evaluation and improvement of the health policies and procedures. My skills in counseling, health education, and health promotion enable me to empower the clients and the staff to make informed and positive health decisions. I hold a MA in Nutrition Science from Syracuse University, and I have a background in human services and food and nutrition. I am committed to advancing the health and well-being of the Mohawk people, respecting their culture, values, and traditions.
