About Kim McFadden

I have been dedicated to supporting youth for over 20 years. I began as a high school teacher, then as a Guidance Counsellor, and eventually moved into a leadership role as Head of Guidance and Student Services. I also worked for a year as an Instructional Leader of Guidance for the Toronto District School Board and for a year as a part-time Guidance Counsellor for inmates at the Toronto South Detention Centre. I am skilled in various forms of counselling and student services, including career, academic and employment counselling, as well as grief support. In 2021, I won the Joanne Twist Award, a provincial-wide award from the Ontario Guidance Leadership Association recognizing recipients “For being an exemplary model of a Guidance professional and for their outstanding commitment to Career/Life Planning and to student success.” I am currently in a new position as a Career & Employment Advisor at Bishop's University. In this role, I am supporting students with their career planning and skills development, as well as providing practical and strategic advice on navigating the job market and job search strategies. I also coordinate the programming of Career and Transition Services events for students, while working with campus staff, employers and community stakeholders.
