About Kim Parker

I started at Essex Radio in 1990 I worked in the Community Action department and spent the summer weekends doing promotion work on the roadshows. After a couple of years I ended up with the position of Roadshow Manager and then became the group Event Manager, Black Thunder co-ordinator and Marketing Manager. Over the years I worked on many events including roadshows, wedding fayres, promotions, product launches, live broadcasts, conferences and listener boat trips. I was stage manager for both Big Beach Bash Events and in I was featured on the 'Southender's' a documentary about Southend people. In I started my own company Totally Sound Ltd, I bought my own 40ft artic trailer that converted into a stage and in 2004 I bought the X-Radio One. I did quite a few amazing events with the Radio One Rig including Songs of Praise on Blackpool Beach and the Dance X Tour. I also achieved my HGV 1 & 2 driving qualifications. In my time employed at Essex Radio and working freelance through Totally Sound Ltd we re-launched to Essex FM and then eventually became Heart. I still work on Roadshows and events for Heart including their hugely successful Wedding Show at the Brentwood Centre in February and September. One of the tours we worked on for 14 years was the '2 Smart 4 Drugs' Roadshow Tour with Essex Police. I was awarded a Commendation from the Chief of Police for great organisation skills and working with kids and teaching about the misuse of drugs. In May 2013 Totally Sound Ltd merged with DPL Production Lighting Ltd (my husband's company) so we now work on all sorts of projects including Glastonbury, The Millie's Awards, building launches, Concerts and Christmas Lighting schemes. Totally Sound Ltd is now running as Totally Sound Events a sister company to DPL and we have just won the Essex Wedding Awards 'Wow' factor category which we are very proud of! and
