About Kim Preece

I'm passionate about making data meaningful—whether that means building scalable solutions, guiding business users through insights, or mentoring others in their data journey. With 20+ years in industry and over a decade in Business Intelligence roles, I bring deep experience across Microsoft’s data stack. For the past three years, I’ve worked as a BI Consultant at RADACAD, helping organisations across sectors adopt and scale Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Power Automate, and more. I’m equally comfortable shaping complex data models as I am working with stakeholders at all levels to understand their needs and deliver practical, impactful solutions. I'm a recognised Power BI Community Super User and thrive on sharing knowledge—whether through formal training, one-on-one mentoring, or community forums. I’ve been fortunate to work with a wide range of teams and roles, and I’ve found my greatest strength lies in communication: translating technical complexity into business clarity. Prior to consulting, I spent over two decades at C3 Ltd, where I held a variety of roles across operations and analytics, including Systems Administrator and Solutions Analyst. That journey taught me the importance of real-world outcomes and shaped my approach to problem-solving and solution design. Outside of work, I’m a proud husband and dad to four incredible kids. I enjoy playing and watching golf, and experimenting in the kitchen—a passion that started when I trained as a chef after leaving school. I’ve also recently taken up woodworking as a hands-on creative outlet.
