Recruitment is more than putting "bums on seats". It is about finding the right person to blend in with the rest of the workers and be a team player under good management. I have been recruiting for nearly 8 years. 5 of those years were spent at Manpower as the Major Account Manager for Boyne Smelter Limited and Rio Tinto Yarwun. in January 2013 I received "Manpower's most valued employee" award throughout Australia and New Zealand for having the highest temp to perm figures for the quarter with placements at Boyne Smelter Limited.2014 took me to Forge Group (formerly Cimeco) as Recruitment Supervisor/Office Manager. Forge (as 2nd tier contractors under CBI) were building the 2 x cubic metre storage tanks for Bechtel on APLNG. My role included start to finish recruitment for all the craft and non-manuals, flights, accommodation, general office administration and island visits when the construction manager and HR department went on R&R. Forge went into receivership of February 14th 2014.1 week later I started with UGL in recruitment to help with the mobilisation of craft & non-manuals for the piping contract which was on APLNG. Having just come from a role where i was doing the identical tasks it was an easy transition. UGL had tendered for the maintenance contracts on APLNG an GLNG and early in 2015 were awarded both contracts which will start at the end of 2015.
