About Kim Schultz

As a passionate educator, I specialize in teaching math for educators, remedial math students, and college algebra using active learning strategies and a growth mindset. I have been honored with the Teacher of the Year award and have received training in teacher observation and feedback. This allows me to provide specific, constructive guidance to help fellow educators improve their practice and grow as professionals. My approach focuses on creating an environment where both students and teachers can thrive. I am dedicated to getting to know my students individually to customize their learning experiences. By identifying where and why mistakes occur, I am able to break down complex concepts into smaller, more manageable steps, making math more accessible and less intimidating. My goal is to guide students toward understanding and mastering the material in a way that suits their unique learning needs and helps students connect mathematics to their daily lives. Looking ahead, my career aspirations include securing a permanent full-time position where I can continue to inspire and empower students. I am committed to helping students make meaningful connections between math and their everyday lives, fostering a deeper appreciation for the subject. I hope to keep growing as an educator, impacting students’ learning journeys for years to come. Outside of the classroom, I am a dedicated Girl Scout leader, helping girls discover their passions while encouraging them to be courageous, strong young women who advocate for themselves. I also enjoy teaching watercolor painting, and I am proud to have won two awards at the state fair for my artwork. These activities allow me to nurture creativity, leadership, and confidence in both my students and the young women I mentor.
