About Kim Shearman

Kim is a Senior Associate Scientist with over 20 years’ experience in environmental auditing, assessment, project management, regulation and legislation. Prior to joining Senversa, she had 14 years’ experience with the EPA as part of the environmental audit team, as an analytical chemist and as emissions modeller. She has also held positions as a research chemist for the mining, smelting and pharmaceutical sectors in Australia and New Zealand. Kim has extensive experience in the Victorian environmental audit system, having reviewed over 200 audit reports and been responsible for the primary assessment of more than 30 groundwater clean up to the extent practicable (CUTEP) submissions while working at EPA. She has lead the review of the CUTEP process and presented a number of times to the auditor community on CUTEP. Because of Kim’s regulatory experience she has been primary assistant to five appointed Victorian contaminated land environmental auditors at Senversa. In this role Kim has had a significant involvement in numerous environmental audits. Tasks have included detailed review of work plans and environmental assessment reports; provision of feedback and advice to assessment consultants; assessment of investigation results against relevant guidelines and policies; preparing CUTEP submissions; drafting environmental audit reports; updating clients on the progress of the environmental audits; and assisting with communications with EPA. Kim has also provided regulatory advice to a number of clients on various issues including groundwater monitoring cessation, remedial strategies and he audit process, waste disposal obligations and compliance with audit requirements.
