About Kim Steinbart

The great thing about a professional career is all the many directions it can take you! What I love about my current job is that I get to lead a passionate and creative team in the development and delivery of an industry-leading responsible gambling program. We’re working to shift the gambling culture in B.C to help keep it safe and fun for those that enjoy it. Through education and awareness campaigns, my team participates in well over interactions with casino patrons each year, helping them make informed choices about gambling. I've also had the amazing experience of being the project manager for an annual international responsible gambling conference with more than 250 delegates. I've made the transition into program management after more than seven years in the communications field, where I specialized in media relations and issues management. I've had some amazing experiences in this field, including: managing media for a sports celebrity in Las Vegas; working with CBC’s Rick Mercer on a segment about wildfire fighting; and delivering countless media interviews during wildfire emergencies. A few more professional accomplishments: • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, with a proven ability to develop, lead and manage corporate initiatives, strategies, programs and services; • Effective and diplomatic leader, with experience providing strategic direction under stressful work environments; • Extraordinary interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage teams, provide leadership, and build and maintain strong and effective relationships. I'm looking forward to the challenges and learning opportunities that I have yet to experience in my career.
