Background
About Kimani Bunch
Kimani Bunch currently serves as 89.3 KALU FM General Manager and Communications Instructor at Langston University. With over ten years of experience working in both television and radio, Mr. Bunch is a media professional with a variety of experience, wealth of knowledge and passion for the media industry. As a former Senior Video Producer for MSNBC and Peacock, he has had the opportunity to successfully act as a leader on the launch of four different globally televised shows. He singularly launched the tape department at Peacock, bridging the gap between the streaming channel and the linear channel. This work allowed him to tap into his creativity as he developed show opening montages, using graphics and eye-catching visuals. From the Black Lives Matter movement, to the disappearance of Malaysian Airways Flight 370, to the 2016 presidential election, Mr. Bunch is no stranger to the fast-paced news cycle and covering breaking news. In 2022, while maintaining his responsibilities as a Senior Video Producer and training to be a Technical Director, he also acted as an Associate Producer for the NFL channel on SiriusXM. Prior to his most recent experiences, Mr. Bunch worked at Access Hollywood as a Field Producer where he covered red carpet movie premieres and junkets, fashion shows, as well as entertainment news. All of this work is a result of his education at Hampton University. As a student at Hampton, he majored in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing and worked at the 88.1 WHOV radio station. His time at WHOV, allowed him to act as an executive producer and host his own show. However, he discovered his true passion for production after landing an internship with BET. After this internship he was hired to work shows such as; the BET Honors, Black Girls Rock, BET Experience, the Hip Hop Awards and more.
