About Kimberley Oconnor

My career path from accounting to information technology has been filled with many opportunities. In my initial role as general accountant I managed the general ledger, financial reporting, account reconciliations, physical inventories and cost valuations for bills of material. With each of these responsibilities I found myself finding ways to utilize software that the company had purchased to improve the process. My passion for re-engineering and continuous improvements has resulted in a well polished skill for analyzing business processes, identifying improvements and driving the efforts to a finished solution. In my current position I have experience leading many projects for system implementations, process improvements and upgrades for our various global applications. I am motivated by change, especially when it eliminates labor intensive processes, increases process efficiencies, removes a chronic pain point for the business or delivers an overall improvement in the user experience. Each one of these efforts presented different advantages and challenges which were successfully managed as part of my project methodology. While working globally, I attribute taking the time to understand the culture of each country and building relationships with my international colleagues as a key to making these projects successful. The value of the personal relationship should never be under estimated when language differences exists and change management is the main objective. In working with the business, I clearly understand that it is all about the customer and collaborating with them to find the right solution for their needs. To be successful, it is necessary to deliver what the customer needs; the way they need it. This is by far the highlight of my current work and what drives me through each day.
