Extensive experience in all aspects of IDEA and Section 504 matters. Extensive training and partnership work designed to empower parents and caregivers. Prior to joining the McAndrews practice, my work included leading the School District of Philadelphia efforts to design, develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the necessary continuum of specialized instruction for students with disabilities as the Deputy of the Office of Specialized Services as well as Senior Special Education counsel for the School District of Philadelphia.Responsibilities included managing relationships with contractors and high-level partners to leverage their expertise in order to deliver high-value products related to the program goals. Evaluating the work of direct reports; and guides and supports the professional development and training of staff.Consulting on the design of technical assistance and professional development to all schools in the SDP on state and federal regulations for special education services.Tracking the progress of multiple projects within larger strategic context and intervening where necessary to resolve complex obstacles to success; and interprets impact of changes in policy and regulation on department strategy.Identifying and systematizing successful operational and project management methods across the department; and developing an annual department budget and allocation of staff and resources during significant State budget contractures and Federal grant sequestration.Built senior-level relationships across internal departments and Offices to drive collaboration and project success; and interacts with and responds effectively to urgent requests from multiple internal and external SDP stakeholders.
