About Kimberly Carpenter

I am an Associate Principal and Senior Civil Designer with nine years of site/civil engineering experience. My software knowledge includes AutoCAD, Autocad Civil 3D, Hydra Flow, and HyrdoCAD. My project experience includes site development, stormwater, sanitary sewer collection, wastewater treatment plants, and athletic fields. My main passion is site development and storm water management. My experience in site development includes layout, ADA accessbility, grading, drainage, utility, and roadway design. My project experience includes working on design-bid-build and design-build projects with public and private sectors. The projects range from New England to California. I serve as the lead designer on all my mutli discipline projects. One year into my career, I founded a civil standard initiative. That initiative has resulted in over 150 standard civil details. I am also an active member in our Civil 3D standards committee where we are focusing on creating standards throughout the civil projects. Throughout my college and professional career, I have always been passionate about mentoring. I believe that it is our responsibility to share our knowledge and help others with their career. I always make time to mentor other designers or engineers. For the past four years, I have been an employee manager, which allows me to include career advice into my mentorship skill set. My team is made up of four designers that work remotely across the US.
