About Kimberly Cherrix

For over 30 years, I have been involved in the field of Information Technology and Quality Assurance. In 1989 I attended a technical college and received a 9-month diploma as a Microcomputer Specialist. After graduating I did odd administrative jobs until Jackson Hewitt Headquarters hired me as a Foxpro and batch file programmer in 1993 for Office Systems, which was developing the back office software for managing every aspect of a Jackson Hewitt Tax Office franchise. This position also required knowledge of LAN's, communications systems, Microsoft and Novell servers and bulletin board systems. After a short stint as Associate Director, I moved over to PC tech and LAN administrator. I continued in the Network Engineering field and continued my formal education, as well, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Information Technology Systems. I acquired many industry certifications including MCSE, CNA, and CCSP. In 2002 I accepted a position as the IT Manager for the NASA Agency Management Education Center and moved away from networking. The majority of my career has been involved in Government as a Network Engineer for Lockheed Martin's US Navy AEGIS contract, and with NASA in both in a Novell and Windows environment. I was previously employed by ManTech International with the NASA Wallops Flight Facility (WFF) Safety Office as a Database Administrator and Occupational Safety Specialist primarily responsible for the Safety Office websites, databases, and custom applications. I have gained experience in institutional and occupational safety with 3 years experience in ELV Pressure Systems and over 5 years in Institutional Safety practices. I was previously the Configuration Manager, Quality Assurance Engineer, and Risk Manager for the NASA Wallops Engineering Service (WESC) contract, then as the Contract Service Area Manager (C-SAM) for the WFF Metrology and Calibration Lab responsible for task deliverables and interfacing with the NASA Task Monitor also on WESC. Currently I am employed by Relative Dynamics Inc. as the Quality Manager on the Range Operations Contract (ROC II) at Wallops Flight Facility. I also started my own Travel Agency in March of 2023.
