About Kimberly Cornfield

I have a personal mission to innovate how research organisations and businesses collaborate to achieve real-world social, environmental, and economic impact. My team and I have helped raised €500 million in EU funding to support University College London's (UCL) research and innovation activities over the last eight years. I am proud to be working for one of the top 10 universities globally and one of the top beneficiaries of the European Union's €80 billion Horizon 2020 funding programme. As a Canadian living in London, I connect leading researchers with industry, non-profits, and governments internationally around climate, health, energy, city and public policy challenges, and funding opportunities. I have a broad international network across academia, industry, non-profits, government, funders, and investors. Through my connections with key opinion leaders, I develop the Crowdhelix Network for digital leadership by facilitating partnerships within the community of 600+ research organisations and businesses around the world. I am a guest lecturer at UCL on collaboration, innovation, and "the role of luck in megaprojects". As a researcher on the Sustainable Development Goals' multilateral partnerships, I investigate the development of knowledge, skills, and policy for large-scale research and innovation projects. In the future, I hope to support impact investors in accelerating how the best scientists and innovators use novel technologies to transform industries, society, and the environment.
