I have over 10 years of experience in the IT Industry. I have worked in many roles such as a developer, BA, and QA Tester. I think that with all that experience, I have been able to become a good Scrum Master. Currently, I am a Scrum Master on the Long Term Service Care Program for the District of Columbia. I am working to consolidate three systems into one. I was involved with working to create the backlog from the beginning, building the team, creating documentation for CMMI Level 3 for the company, and helping the customer understand their involvement in the agile process. I am also working to create a set standard for building an agile team (standard backlog, baseline code, baseline features). We are currently sprinting with three week sprints and I run the daily standups, retrospectives, planning, help coordination demos, and help in grooming sessions. I make sure that any issues or blockers are taken care of for the team. I was previously a Scrum Master, at ManTech I have worked on the End Stage Renal Disease Program for dialysis facilities to enter their patient and clinical data. There were major software changes, as well as moving to the cloud, and using the agile methodologies with client being engaged. With the implementation, the team had regulations set by CMS such as 508 compliance, user’s time to get from page to page, number of automated tests, and replication/aggregation of data. We would receive yearly regulation changes set by CMS and Congress. It was my team that made the software changes and worked with other vendors to implement the changes. A major change was the move to the new ICD-10 program codes. The team started out using the waterfall methodology and we worked with the customer (CMS) to move to an agile framework.
