Background
About Kimberly Kopplien
I have been no stranger to change and learning over my career. I am self-taught throughout many areas of my career. As my career changed, so did I. If I don’t know it I learn it. I have worked with diverse teams and am able to be a team player, a leader, and work well on my own. I have worked in diverse areas such as hardware, software, education, and training. I have worked with computers and other technology for over nineteen years. I started with Windows 3.1 to Windows 10 and HDDs to SSD. I am Computer hardware and software (A+ Certified).I got into computers by learning to build and upgrade them. I have worked with different databases and servers. Such as Access, SQL databases working with PL/SQL (SQL Developer), and I am learning about Banner database (Oracle) on a Linux server (Unix OS). I started programming in Coldfusion back in 2006 and I keep learning new program languages. I have coded in HTML, ColdFusion, javascript, and novice with Ruby on Rails and PHP. I have worked with CSS, I have over five years experience with the designing and implementation of online courses in different learning management systems. I have experience as a Blackboard, Canvas, and Moodle Administrator. When I worked with the Grant Project where I administered Canvas, integrated third party vendors (LTI/ API), and assisted with designing online courses for LB iLearn Campus, with our non-term set up and worked with CSS (JavaScript).(http://lbilearn.linnbenton.edu/meet-the-techs/). I worked with SMEs to develop courses while ensuring ADA compliance and adhering to Quality Matters. Past projects include different coding projects that assisted in the functionality of our LMSs (Moodle and Canvas) and the school database (Banner). I also assisted in the design and administered the web page for LB iLearn on WordPress. I researched mobile apps and made recommendations to the college based on my findings. I obtained my Initial I Teaching license through Corban University (2015-2018) to teach high school business and computers. I was going to take my computer knowledge and teach at a high school level but the job market was not open. I obtained skills and knowledge on instructional design online courses through University of Wisconsin - Stout, E-Learning and Online Teaching (M.S. Education Online Program).
