About Kimberly Olden

As a visiting lecturer at Roehampton University, I strive to inspire and make an impact in Roehampton's vibrant community by promoting inclusive practice in higher education. This mission extends to my contributions as a part of the G-EPIC (Gender Empowerment Through Politics in Classrooms) research project, where our research aims to bridge gender gaps in political education and self-efficacy for underprivileged girls in secondary education. My own PhD research aims to contribute to this cause, where I am currently researching the relationship between Gendered representation in politics through the case study of Young Adult Intercountry Adoptees (ICA) from China Korea and Vietnam. I aim to explore vital links between culture/gender representation and their effects on political socialisation and engagement opportunities online- engaging with the positive potential of alternative political platforms to increase inclusive political educational practice. My passion to provide accessible representation through diverse platforms extents to my work as a Diversity and Inclusion Consultant at Triple Danger Productions. I aim to provide prolific knowledge of cultural diversity, implement a non-traditional casting strategy, and consult on appropriate cultural relevancy on screenwriting projects. I have contributed to the success of several films and shows that reflect the diverse and complex realities of migration and diaspora communities.
