About Kimberly Renderos
My name is Kimberly Renderos, the oldest child of Mexican and Salvadoran immigrants. I am a first-generation college graduate. I graduated magna cum laude in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Chicana/o Studies with a minor in Political Science. As an undergraduate student, I worked as a Peer Mentor for two years and then the Lead Peer Mentor with the Encounter to Excellence (ETE) Program. I initially worked with first-year students and then transitioned to mentoring students who were in their second or third year of college. I simultaneously held leadership roles through clubs and organizations during my time as an undergraduate student that also allowed me to highlight issues/topics that greatly affected our campus such as immigration laws, racism, gender inequality, and food and housing insecurity. Because of how much my family's and friends' immigration stories have inspired me, my goal is to soon go to law school and become an immigration lawyer and give back to them and the rest of my community.
