About Kimberly Simms
I started my private practice shortly after law school to focus on the legal and political needs of the medical marijuana community. My experience has given me a depth of various areas of law including negotiating with government officials to craft reasonable and effective regulations that allow safe access, to litigating complex land use and zoning cases, to advising hundreds of cannabis entrepreneurs. In each case, the commonality is that I have been recognized as an expert in the area of cannabis law. In addition to practicing law, I enjoy teaching courses and leading seminars to inform how the public can comply with the evolving legal and regulatory requirements of the cannabis industry. I have been featured on NPR, CNN, and many San Diego media outlets as a trusted source. I am also proud of being a founding Board Member of the Alliance for Responsible Medicinal Access, San Diego’s leading cannabis chamber of commerce and political advocacy organization. I am also proud to serve as Chapter Chair of San Diego Women Grow.
