About Kimi Becker

Hello! Welcome to my profile! I am a full-time EOSC (Earth and Ocean Science) student, studying at the beautiful Vancouver campus of the University of British Columbia. My background in EOSC has been led by my passion for our planet's interconnected systems, environmental challenges, and my love for weather and climate (especially extreme weather and climate change). Fueled by my passion, I have extensive knowledge of weather/climate analysis, the impacts of climate change, climate change mitigation and adaption concepts, EIAs (Environmental Impact Assessments), extreme weather analysis, and wildfire management. When I am not studying, I work part-time in the food & beverage service industry with 3+ years of experience and the events industry with 4+ years of experience. As a bartender, I express my love for customer service and drink-making while building a stronger student community on the UBC campus. Additionally, I work for The Calendar UBC where I get to further build the UBC student community through high-impact, high-attendee events. I've worked on countless events with over attendees and have provided seamless production management and creativity to help fuel student enjoyment.
