About Kimi King

Distinguished Teaching Professor whose research examines transitional justice, international war crimes tribunals, sexual and gender based violence, and victim witness-centered justice. She has authored or co-authored three books (Cambridge University Press, University of Michigan Press, West Academic Publishing), multiple book chapters, and over 20 articles in Political Research Quarterly, the Journal of Conflict Resolution, and Social Science Quarterly among others. Along with Jim Meernik, she was a co-principal investigator on research commissioned by the International War Crimes Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia examining the impact of testifying before international tribunals, and they are currently working on projects related to the Colombian peace process. She served as UNT’s pre-law advisor, internship coordinator, and she is the founding coach for UNT’s nationally ranked Moot Court team and is one of the founding board members for the American Moot Court Association. She helped establish the Gender Equity Network at UNT providing mentoring and advocacy for marginalized faculty. She has won over 20 teaching or service awards including the American Political Science Association’s Award for Innovative Teaching.
