Kimo van Dijk works in the team Sustainable Soil Management at Wageningen Environmental Research (WENR), part of Wageningen University & Research. His work is focused on nutrient management (recycling and emissions), and production and use of biobased materials the production, specifically circular fertilisers from different organic 'waste' and residual flows, including manure, digestate, wastewater, urine, biowaste, etc. Among others, present projects- Public Private Collaboration (PPS) project Kringloopsluiting van Nutrienten uit Afvalwater en Proceswater (KNAP)(in English: Closing nutrient cycles from waste water and process water)- - PPS project NitriNure about valorisation of liquid and solid fractions of animal manure https://research.wur.nl/en/projects/lwv24119-nitrinure-ts-02-210-015 - PPS project BIOVALOR Finished EU projects are FERTIMANURE about on-farm manure valorisation and SYSTEMIC about valoristation of digestate from large scale anaerobic digestion plants. Additionally, he participates in the Dutch Nutrient Platform and other nutrient networks. Key skills: research, project management, knowledge transfer, stakeholder involvement, technology implementation, policy involvement, transition development, communication, innovation and education. Key interests: circular economy, resource efficiency, food systems, nutrient management, recycling,(urban) sustainable agriculture, circular sanitation and wastewater systems, school gardens, sustainable communal housing.
