Background & Authority: I translate 30+ years of technical experience into clear business strategy. My expertise is built on three foundational pillars: United States Air Force (Officer & Leader): I served as Director of Wide Area Network Security for the F-22 "Raptor" program. Leading IT teams in air-to-air weapons testing taught me the critical importance of "good cyber hygiene" in high-stakes environments where failure was not an option. Stanford Research Institute (Project Leader): I helped Fortune 100 firms grapple with cybersecurity challenges that were 5+ years ahead of the mainstream. With no "off-the-shelf" solutions available, we built custom strategies for large-scale threats. CISO Experience (Insurance & Finance): As CISO of a major insurance company, I provided cybersecurity leadership to subsidiaries including a community bank, credit union, and IT managed service provider. This is where I mastered the business value of security. Current Focus: Cyber Risk Opportunities: In 2015, I launched my own firm to stop cyberattacks from bankrupting businesses. We help executives treat cyber as a business risk so they are ready for anything. Today, we apply our proven framework to a diverse range of clients—from a professional basketball team to a biotech company.
