About Kira Farrell

I am an emergency department nurse at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA, where I work as a staff nurse, teach TNCC, and precept new staff/nursing students/paramedic students. Previously, I worked at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in their ED, where I loved the dynamic teamwork required at a critical access facility and became a TNCC instructor, chaired the Code Blue Committee, and served on the simulation team and hospital-wide employee engagement council. I began my nursing career at Rady Children's Hospital, San Diego. Along with working as an emergency department nurse, I was involved in the unit disaster and behavioral health councils, PPC, peer review committee, and new employee orientation, as well as the hospital-wide development and education council. I graduated the Master's Entry Program in Nursing at the University of San Diego Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science in May 2018. I completed my undergraduate degree in 2016 with a B.S. in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Experience volunteering at Ronald Reagan Medical Center and in the Dominican Republic fueled a fire for patient care within me. At USD, I was lucky to fulfill some of that hunger through health fairs and clinic immersions in La Morita, Tijuana, Eric Paredes Save a Life cardiac screenings, a healthcare mission trip to Guatemala, and our clinical rotations.
