About Kiranjit Kaur

I am currently pursuing my Juris Doctor at Albany Law as a member of the class of 2025. I am a first-year student at Albany Law School in New York, however, I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I come from a family of immigrants and am a first-generation student. Along with being fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, I believe my personal experiences would allow me to make substantive contributions to your team and help to foster a diverse work environment. Prior to attending Albany Law, I graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Throughout undergrad, I had maintained a GPA of 4.0, graduated summa cum laude, and was on the Dean’s List every semester. During college, I was active in several organizations including the Student Government Association and the Student Alumni Gold Club. Being a part of these organizations allowed me to speak with the highly valued donators of Ferris State, as well as the President and Vice President. My role within these organizations allowed me to engage with students to influence policy changes. Outside of school, I had the privilege of working with Bill Saxton on his campaign to represent District 73 in the Michigan House of Representatives. I achieved recognition by implementing a way to increase voter turnout by keeping a list of names and addresses, coordinated placement of accessible precincts, and voting centers, participated in canvasing, and assigned volunteers to campaign events.
