About Kiranpreet Boyal

Hi! My name is Kiran and I am a 4th year student at UBC, majoring in English Literature and History in the hope of pursuing a career as secondary school teacher. I am currently employed full-time at Khalsa Secondary School as an Administrative Assistant while attending university full-time. This pandemic has brought upon many challenges, but I have also gained new skills. Through my current employment, I have developed an intermediate proficiency in Microsoft, Excel, and Powerpoint. I have also enhanced my time management and organization skills while juggling school, volunteer work, and two jobs; my other being a food server at IHOP, which is a fast paced breakfast restaurant in White Rock, BC. Therefore, these experiences have strengthened my efficiency and my ability to work in high pressure environments. I have garnered many achievements in my academic career so far. I am the recipient of the UBC Centennial Entrance Scholarship in 2019. Additionally, I am also the recipient of The Cmolik Foundation Scholarship, which is awarded to students who when faced with adversity, display the resilience and tenacity to achieve their academic goals. I was one of the 22 out of the hundreds of applicants selected for this award in BC. I am currently looking for new opportunities.
