About Kirill Faust

I was originally born in Russia, but grew up most of my life in the north of Germany between Hamburg and Bremen. In Rostock, Germany, I completed my bachelor's and master's degrees in chemistry with a focus on (element-)organic synthesis. During my master's studies, I spent four months abroad as part of a research internship at MIT in Cambridge, MA, USA. Subsequently, after a bridging position at the Leibniz Institute of Catalysis (LIKAT), I was drawn to Linz, Austria, where I began my doctoral studies at the then only recently founded Institute of Catalysis at Johannes Kepler University Linz. My research focus was the chemical recycling of polyolefins. I have eventually successfully finished my doctorate, however, along the way I have already found my vocation as expert for quality control at Aurorium Austria Gmbh. I've been around at least a little bit in my life, and I've noticed that I can pretty much feel at home anywhere and focus on the good aspects of where I live in each case. Since I've been living in Austria, where I actually plan to stay, I've been trying my hand at the occasional hike, rediscovering skiing (again), or even enjoying a coffee on the balcony in good weather.
