Background
About Kirk Dunn
Kirk enjoys building strong client relationships through his focus on customer-centricity. Kirk helps Customer Service Centres reach new levels of excellence by encouraging them to adopt a compassionate approach to the customer’s perspective, and by advocating dedicated, personal ownership by Customer Service Representatives. Currently, one of Kirk's clients is VereQuest, where he is Vice-President of Customer Experience. At VereQuest, Kirk has been instrumental in assembling and managing a team of highly skilled Quality Monitoring and Coaching specialists for various corporate clients. Their insight gives companies a unique understanding of how Customer Experience impacts their branding. Previously, Kirk worked for 7 years at e-roleplay (now Practica Learning), where he gave coaching training to Senior Vice-Presidents of financial institutions; coached feedback trainers; wrote training courses; and was a member of the sales team. Kirk also coached face-to-face in both Canada and the United States for Pitch, a corporate training company operating out of Toronto. Kirk got his start as an actor for theatre, film and TV. He has also written award-winning children’s plays which have been performed across Canada and the U.S, and has written kids’ television for broadcasters such as YTV, TVO, Treehouse, Family Channel and PBS. A curious fact: Kirk played the lead in The Adventures of Dudley the Dragon, a children’s TV show where he acted and sang inside an eight-foot-tall green dragon suit. During his three seasons playing Dudley, the show earned a Gemini Award for Best Children's Series. Curious fact #2: Kirk is a master knitter. He has designed many knitted garments, and has been interviewed by many publications, including enRoute Magazine, Vogue Knitting, Family Circle Knitting, the National Post and Maclean’s. Kirk is the recipient of a Chalmers Foundation Grant and is presently touring his one-person show, The Knitting Pilgrim, a multidisciplinary one-man show that combines personal storytelling, image projection, and three huge knitted panels that look like stained glass windows, to explore the connection amongst the Abrahamic faiths: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The play recounts Kirk’s fifteen-year artistic and spiritual journey of hand-knitting the ambitious project, and looks at why people struggle to get along today, the meaning of art, the hell of grant-writing and the power of love to overcome major obstacles (and minor mishaps).
