About Kirk Gouws

Let me introduce myself, my name is Kirk Gouws and I was recently employed on a contractual basis to repair, rectify and manage the production at N1 Paving and Bricks. My role was to rectify production and staff issues. Within my 4 months I managed to increase production by 70% and reduce staff by 30%. Staff morale was built up and my leadership was very well accepted. Maintenance teams were created which also reduced production down time and new product mix designs were crated and implemented. Before my production contract I built a successful small to medium size construction business that focused on high end luxury home builds. In conjunction with the construction business I diversified into delivering bulk spring water in and around the Western Cape using our dedicated water tanker. Due to Covid challenges and business restrains I had to close my business and enter back into the corporate employment sector. Prior to my business ventures, I was employed as the Head Office Senior SHEQ Manager at Stefanutti Stocks Marine. Five years before working for Stefanutti Stocks Marine I was a Project Quality Manager at Grinaker-LTA Building. I managed and controlled the Quality functions throughout both companies. Some of my key responsibilities were as follows: Develop all tender Quality submissions. Develop PQP's (Project Quality Plans) for all projects. Develop all internal OP's (Operating Procedures) within the division. Manage the document control department. Review and develop project ITP's (also known as PQP's). Audit all projects based on the approved audit schedule developed by myself. Audit all internal HO departments as specified by the Divisional Quality Manual. Audit Sub-contractors and suppliers as and when required. Employ new or train existing staff for project quality roles and responsibilities. Manage all project Quality staff. Produce monthly quality reports for our Management meetings. Maintain conformance to our ISO9001 certification and prepare for our annual re-certification and compliance audits. I am a certified ISO9001 auditor, ISO14001 auditor and OSHAS18001 auditor. I have years of experience in the marine, building and civil construction industry and strive for new and bigger challenges.
