Dr. Kirk McDaniel is an innovative, critical-thinking, solutions-oriented, high-energy, focused leader with analytical and organizational abilities. He is passionate about creating organizational value and pushing boundaries by solving technical and cultural issues. His multi-faceted background is the result of 35 years of leadership and success with the natural resource segments including mining, tunneling, and industrial facilities. During his career, Dr. McDaniel has held key leadership roles within world-class mining, engineering, and management organizations including Rio Tinto, Freeport McMoRan, Behre Dolbear, and Westinghouse TRU Solutions and his current role as Director of Mine Safety at the Colorado School of Mines. He also provides expert witness services to the legal industry and has been involved multiple mine and tunnel accident and fatality litigation cases through Lamphead Mining/Safety Consulting LLC.
