I am a seasoned logistics expert, strategist, and leader. Although I have been involved in logistics most of my professional life, my passion is people. People are any organizations most valuable asset and I believe that we can accomplish anything if everyone is pulling in the same direction. You show me a leader lacking in vision, mistreating employees, communicating poorly or not at all, doesn’t “walk the talk”, or fails to empower others and I will show you an ineffective organization pulling in different directions. My leadership philosophy that delivers success and cargo: Establish and sell a vision that inspires – to motivate people to follow your lead you must have a credible vision of where you want the organization to be in the future and be able to convince others that the vision is worth pursuing. Treat everyone with respect and dignity at all times – People will work hard at achieving goals if they feel that their efforts are respected by management and that leadership cares about them. Walk the talk – Others are watching; even when you think they are not. Lead by example both at work and at home. Empower others – fosters confidence and self-esteem, enables innovative problem solving, achieve goals faster and more frequently…besides, no one likes to be micromanaged. Build trust through effective communication – trust enables effective teamwork and a building block of trust is frequent and effective communication. You will likely fail to achieve goals if there is poor communication and a lack of trust.
