I have worked as an M&E Quantity Surveyor for over 15 years, working my way from a Trainee role to Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor, on various sizes and types of projects. My general skills include the use of Excel, Word and all associated Mircosoft Office products, as well as Dropbox and various online information management systems. My roles have included but not limited to- Analysing & organising the tender QSoR into packages & budgets suitable to sell and manage- Creation of a Procurement Schedule & CVR, setting targets to achieve margin- Liaison with Estimating/Work Winning to ensure efficient handover to the site team- Development & management of procurement, incl collation & issuing of Invitation to Tender's, obtaining and analysing quotes, recognising & achieving approval of Value Engineering options, tender meetings with suppliers, subcontractors & clients- Development, management & monitoring of all Preliminaries, Labour, Cashflow & Turnover forecasts based on the programme- Management of all commercial aspects individually or lead the project’s commercial resources- Selection & placement of material & plant orders- Selection of Subcontractors, incl drafting, issuing & management of Subcontract Orders- Managing applications, variations & claims to the client & from Subcontractors- Working closely with the Project Director & team to ensure the contractual obligations are fulfilled & to protect against any potential losses i.e. LAD’s, contra-charges etc- Managing & monitoring budgets & minimising costs to achieve targets- Updating CVR & all associated reports/forecasts regularly & ensure optimisation of value & margin- Collating & finalising Final Accounts with clients & Subcontractors. My experience and working closely with the operational and engineering resource has also enabled me to develop my operational knowledge of construction projects, and my technical understanding of the mechanical and electrical systems installed.
