Kirthi Chilukuri is a real estate developer serial entrepreneur investor and environmentalist. He is an avid advocate of biophilic infrastructure which integrates a deep connection with nature in modern living. He has been the Founder and MD of Stonecraft Group since 2013 and has raised the stakes of green residential investments. He seeks to elevate families' living experiences and lifestyles through sustainable earth-friendly initiatives combined with state-of-the-art technology. Kirthi is developing several green living habitats in India currently. His signature project is in Hyderabad near the international airport in Shamshabad. Woods Shamshabad is a 60-acre plotting project with an 18-acre forested area. The site is home to over 141 species of birds. With 4 50 000 trees featuring 153 species of plants this once-barren land is now the world’s largest Miyawaki forest. “My worldview ” Kirthi says “is that we humans need convivial conservation based on the understanding that our lifestyle choices impact the world around us. I am a staunch advocate of biophilic urbanism—an approach to living that focuses on the human connection to the natural world. We need stable human habitats that heal the environment over time not harm it.” Kirthi has more than 15 years of experience in the real estate business in which he has built a stellar reputation by selling over a million (ten lakh) square yards of residential property and establishing a customer base of more than 3 000 families. Always looking for challenges Kirthi and his Stonecraft team are now set to develop urban vertical forests in Hyderabad and other metropolitan cities in India. “Our vision ” he says “is to connect people and nature within our built environments and communities.” As a serial entrepreneur and investor Kirthi has interests in other businesses like an innovation design lab apart from sports gourmet cuisine and film-making. He is a non-executive director and partner with InstillMotion an innovation consultancy that holds nine patents in aviation healthcare sanitaryware and consumer electronics sectors. InstillMotion has started a defence vertical which is doing R&D projects on drones and unmanned aerial vehicles. Kirthi lives in Hyderabad with Anusha his wife and their twin boys—Rudransh and Kriyansh. He is a gastronome and also an automobile and travel enthusiast.
