About Kiyah Keyes

I am a senior at Southern Connecticut State University, starting to look for roles in the criminal Justice As well as Clinical Social Work in the healthcare industry. As a sociology major, I’m interested in helping out the community and building a better justice system that helps and protects everyone no matter what race or ethnicity while making sure to support Families in helping them cope with emotional and social impacts they may be experiencing due to hardships. I have taken criminal justice courses such as penology, pardon and probation, and victimization, as well as many others that have informed me about the history of the justice system and the different roles you can take on. With the experience and knowledge I’ve gained, I'm looking to help serve and protect many communities. Currently, I work in Griffin Hospital Serving The physical Therapy department, Also Known as the rehab team. With having so many interactions with the patients and listening to them when they are venting, I've also decided I want to get my MA in social work within the healthcare so that I can help out the families who don't have the support needed when they visit hospitals and are feeling alone. I want to provide support in every way I can to make a difference in Everyone's lives. My experience from my social Work classes at Gateway and my internship at Valley Regional has helped me change my perspective. My goal is to shape change in the world of criminal Justice while helping patients inside of the Healthcare Field As a clinical social Worker.
